GORILLAS AND WILDLIFE


meet the Batwa pygmies, join us for a game drive, and come gorilla trekking in Uganda! Then let’s go on a safari, take on a waterfall, cruise through the delta, and go rhino trekking in Uganda. You’ll sleep with the sounds of the tropical forest in the background, and you’ll spot hundreds of colorful flowers, birds, lions, crocodiles, and more!


DAY 1: KIGALI – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE


Our driver-guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you on a 3-hours car journey via the Gatuna Border to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Proceed to Buhoma for your lunch, followed by a Batwa (Pygmies) community walk in the evening. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at your lodge.

DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING


Wake up very early in the morning for your breakfast. Afterward, you will proceed to the National Park headquarters to meet your guides for the day. After completing the necessary formalities at the park, we will embark on an unforgettable mountain gorilla tracking expedition. Once you spot them, you will be able to spend an hour watching your long-lost cousin in his natural habitat. Return to your hotel for lunch, dinner, and overnight.

DAY 3: DEPART FOR QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK


After breakfast, we will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and reach Mweya at midday, a place with a stunningly beautiful view over the Kazinga Channel. You will check-in at your accommodation and have lunch. Late in the afternoon (4.00- 7.00 pm), we will go on a game drive. You will then enjoy dinner and rest at your lodge.

DAY 4: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK


This day will be spent on a game drive on the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where thousands of Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants, etc. will pose for the camera. Also in the programme is a 2-hour cruise on the Kazinga Channel where we will see all the animals from the waterside. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

DAY 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KIBALE NATIONAL PARK


Early in the morning, we depart with a game drive en route to Kibale National Park. The drive will take about 7hrs, and we will arrive late in the afternoon at the Kibale Forest Camp, where we will fall asleep with the sounds of the tropical rainforest in the background. We are occasionally able to stay at the Chimpanzee Guesthouse, overlooking the Nyabikere Crater Lake. The lake is famous for the frogs and their splendid nocturnal concert.

DAY 6: CHIMPS AND SWAMP WALK


At 8.00 am, we will start with the 4-hour chimp walk. During the walk, you may get to see 10 other primates! The Kibale National Park is also known for its countless colorful butterflies and birds. In the afternoon, we will walk through the Bigodi Swamp (home to a community-based project).

DAY 7: DEPART FOR MURCHISON FALL NATIONAL PARK


Set off on a 5-hour drive to Murchison Falls, and arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Later that afternoon, take a boat trip downstream to the delta, where the Nile enters Lake Albert. This 5 to the 6-hour trip will reveal the beauty of this national park, and especially the colorful delta birds. This is a great opportunity to see the elusive Shoebill Stork! In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

DAY 8: MURCHISON FALL NATIONAL PARK


The day will be spent viewing game around the park and along the Nile. We will leave early in the morning. If staying at Nile Safari Lodge or Red Chilli Paraa, we will cross the Nile with the ferry at 7.00 am. We’ll go on a game drive from 8.00 am to 12.00noon, seeing several animals along the way, including lions and giraffes. From 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm, we will go on the impressive ‘launch trip’ on the Nile, up to the Falls, giving you a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and many varieties of colorful birds!

DAY 9: MURCHISON FALL NAT PARK – ENTEBBE VIA ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY


We will depart for Entebbe early in the morning, stopping at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for some rhino trekking in Uganda. We will have lunch here  before continuing to Entebbe, where we will arrive late in the afternoon. We’ll have dinner and we’ll spend the night at Laico Lake Victoria.

DAY 10: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

Depending on the time of your departure, you’ll be transferred to the airport
