Guests will be picked up very early in the morning from their hotel in Kigali or from Kigali International Airport by our professional safari guide. After a short briefing, the journey begins towards Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda, a scenic drive of approximately 2.5 hours through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside and rolling hills.

Upon arrival at the park headquarters in Kinigi, guests will join other trekkers for a detailed briefing by experienced park rangers before beginning the unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking experience.

The trek takes guests through lush rainforest, bamboo vegetation, and volcanic terrain in search of one of the habituated gorilla families. Trekking duration can vary between 2 and 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once the gorillas are found, guests will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat while learning about their behavior, family structure, and conservation efforts.

After the trek, guests will return to the lodge or nearby restaurant for lunch before driving back to Kigali. Upon arrival, guests will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for departure or dropped off at their hotel.
